Measuring economic growth

The Commerce Department releases its final estimate of fourth-quarter economic growth today.

Economists expect the report will show that gross domestic product grew at a 2.7% seasonally adjusted annual rate in the last three months of 2022. That’s unchanged from the previous estimate, which itself was a revision from an initial reading of 2.9% growth. The solid showing comes despite rising interest rates and elevated inflation.
