Betty D. McGee

Betty D. McGee, 97, of Lookout Mountain, TN, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 20, 2023.

She was born in Greensboro, NC to Louis and R.B. Dorman. They moved to Atlanta, GA where she attended school and was a star athlete.

She was preceded in death by her two brothers and two sisters. She resided on Lookout Mountain for over 50 years and was preceded in death by her husband, Russell McGee, Jr., and her son, Russell McGee III, killed in action in Vietnam.

She is survived by her daughter, BaBette Hinnard, and husband, Mark, her son, Rick McGee and wife, Leigh, her son, Bob McGee, and honorary family member, caregiver, and friend, Mary Skae, and husband, Bill.

She loved golf and was honored with lifetime membership in the CWGA. She was a volunteer in many local organizations and served on the Chattanooga YMCA board for several years.

Her other great loves were family, friends, and the beaches of St Simmons Island.

A private family service will be held at the Forrest Hills Cemetery in Chattanooga.

Memorials may be made to the Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church, Hospice of Cleveland, or other local charities.
