Police investigating suspected North Chattanooga homicide

Chattanooga police are investigating a suspected homicide in North Chattanooga, according to a news release Monday.

Officers responded to a report of an unconscious person at 605 Merriam St. on Thursday, the release said.

Inside, they found 48-year-old Angela Young, dead from an apparent gunshot wound, police said.

Young’s death is being investigated as a homicide because of the apparent gunshot, according to the release.

No suspect information was available Monday, Assistant Chief Jerri Sutton said in an email.
