Police say two were shot in Ooltewah

Two people were shot in Ooltewah on Monday according to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to reports of a shooting in the 6400 block of OoltewahGeorgetown Road around 3:30 p.m. Monday, according to a Facebook post from the Sheriff’s Office.

Two victims were taken to a medical facility nearby with apparent “serious injuries,” sheriff’s spokesperson Matt Lea said in an email Monday.

Residents were asked to avoid the area Monday afternoon to leave room for emergency vehicles. According to Sheriff Austin Garrett, there is no danger to the public, Lea said.
