16 test positive for COVID-19 at Silverdale Baptist summer camp

The Hamilton County Health Department is warning of possible COVID19 exposure at Silverdale Baptist Church’s summer camp after 16 attendees tested positive for the virus, according to a news release.

The health department recommends all who attended the camp from July 23-25 get tested, along with any close contacts.

Any known close contacts of 15 minutes or more with someone who has tested positive should also be quarantined, unless they have been vaccinated, the release states. Vaccinated contacts should still get tested three to five days after any possible exposure and wear a mask in indoor public spaces for 14 days or until testing negative.

Symptoms of COVID19 may include fever, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, recent change in smell or taste, headache, diarrhea, nausea or vomiting or other symptoms as recognized by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the release states.

Anyone who develops any unusual symptoms should not leave their home except to visit a testing location or health care provider, according to the health department.
